Video Spotlight: How to Chop a Shallot

Part two in my mini-video series filmed over a year ago, I demonstrate how to chop a shallot. As you’ll hear in the video clip, shallots are a great addition to recipes needing a gentle flavor boost without the bite of an onion. Don’t be intimdated by shallots—they are a great addition to any cook’s pantry and can keep for a month (or more!) in a dark, dry location. Pick up a couple the next time you’re at the market!
